Walmart Issues Nationwide Recall of Popular Ranch Seasoning Over Salmonella Risk

Walmart customers across the United States are being urged to check their kitchens after a nationwide recall was announced for a popular ranch seasoning product due to possible salmonella contamination.

According to information released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Blackstone Products has voluntarily recalled several lots of its Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning after concerns that one of the ingredients may contain harmful bacteria linked to serious foodborne illness.

The affected products are 7.3-ounce bottles of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold both at Walmart stores nationwide and through the official Blackstone Products website. The recall specifically impacts products carrying the following lot numbers:

  • 2025-43282
  • 2025-46172
  • 2026-54751

Customers can also identify the recalled items by checking the “Best If Used By” dates printed on the packaging, which range from July 2, 2027, to August 12, 2027.

The issue reportedly began after California Dairies, Inc. recalled a batch of dry milk powder earlier this year because of potential salmonella contamination. That milk powder was later used by a third-party manufacturer to produce the ranch seasoning now being recalled.

Health officials warn that salmonella infections can become dangerous, especially for young children, elderly individuals, and people with weakened immune systems. Common symptoms may include fever, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In more severe cases, the infection can lead to hospitalization or even become life-threatening.

The FDA stated that symptoms usually appear between 12 and 72 hours after consuming contaminated food and may last several days.

At the moment, no illnesses connected to the recalled seasoning have been reported. However, customers who purchased the affected products are being advised to stop using them immediately and safely dispose of the bottles.

Blackstone Products is also offering replacements for customers impacted by the recall. Consumers can contact the company directly through its customer support line for additional information.

The recall is part of a broader food safety issue connected to the same milk powder ingredient. Several other products across the United States have also been affected in recent weeks, including specialty drink mixes, yogurt powders, smoothie bases, croutons, and frozen pizzas sold by major retailers like Walmart, Aldi, and Kroger.

Some of the recalled products included flavored milk teas, matcha mixes, caramel latte powders, frozen breakfast pizzas, and chicken bacon ranch pizzas distributed nationwide.

Food recalls involving salmonella contamination have become increasingly common in recent years, prompting health agencies to encourage consumers to regularly monitor FDA recall announcements and carefully check product labels and expiration dates before use.

The FDA continues to investigate the situation while retailers remove the affected products from store shelves.
