About the Role
The Software Engineer (Productivity) will focus on improving the efficiency and experience of developers working on OpenAI’s Workload team, which maintains the core components of the company’s training and inference frameworks. This team plays a critical role in executing frontier AI experiments and ensuring that OpenAI’s systems operate smoothly.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Optimizing development workflows to increase productivity for engineers.
Collaborating with various Workload teams to address their specific needs while coordinating with centralized teams focused on developer experience.
Improving iteration speed, particularly by optimizing continuous integration (CI) systems for specific teams.
Enhancing reliability by driving testing strategies for core components.
Managing the “long tail” of tasks needed to build libraries and systems that make life easier for researchers.
