Alpine Skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics: High-Speed Drama in the Italian Alps

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games are set to bring the world’s most elite alpine skiers to the breathtaking slopes of the Italian Alps. Scheduled from February 7 to 18, 2026, the alpine skiing competition will feature ten thrilling events, split evenly between men and women.

Iconic Venues
For the 2026 Games, the competition will be divided between two legendary locations:
  • Men’s Events: The fierce "Stelvio" course in Bormio will host the men's races. Known for being one of the most demanding and icy tracks on the World Cup circuit, it promises to test the limits of even the strongest athletes.
  • Women’s Events: The Olimpia delle Tofane in Cortina d’Ampezzo will be the stage for the women’s competitions. This venue has a rich Olympic history, having previously hosted the 1956 Winter Games.
Key Events to Watch
The program includes the traditional high-speed and technical disciplines:
  • Speed Events: Downhill and Super-G.
  • Technical Events: Slalom and Giant Slalom.
  • New Format: The traditional individual Alpine Combined has been replaced by a Team Combined event for pairs, adding a new layer of strategy and national pride to the podium hunt.
Star Power
Fans can expect to see global icons like Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt and the legendary Mikaela Shiffrin from the USA battling for gold on some of the world's most scenic and challenging terrain.
